Vice President of Programs and Compliance

The Vice President of Programs and Compliance reports to the President & CEO of the Florida State Minority Supplier Development Council, and directly supports the organization’s mission by providing leadership over the Council’s delivery of programs and services in accordance with the mission and goals of the Council. This individual will assist with the attainment and tracking of Key Performance Indicators (KPIs).

Process Management:

  • Plan the delivery of the overall program and services in accordance with the mission and goals
  • Ensure that program activities operate within the policies and procedures of the
    organization
  • Assist with developing new initiatives to support the strategic direction of the
    organization
  • Assist with developing and implementing long-term goals and objectives to achieve the successful outcome of programs and services
  • Develop a program evaluation framework to assess the strengths of programs and to identify areas for improvement
  • Assist with the development of funding proposals/grants for programs and services to ensure the continuous delivery of services
  • Develop, update, and implement standard operating procedures (SOPs) and policies
  • Assist with the identification of alternative funding sources, including collaborating on proposals
  • Monitor the program activities on a regular basis and conduct an annual evaluation
    according to the program evaluation framework
  • Develop monthly, quarterly and annual reports and report evaluation findings and
    recommend changes to enhance the programs and services, as appropriate
  • Assist with the implementation of the CRM
  • Provide business consultations to small and diverse suppliers
  • Perform other responsibilities as assigned


People Management:

  • In consultation with the President, recruit, interview and select well-qualified staff
  • Establish and implement a performance management process for all program staff
  • Supervise and manage the performance of a team of direct reports
  • Conduct performance reviews and improvement plans
  • Provide staff training and professional development
  • Ensure all staff members receive orientation and appropriate training
  • Supervise program staff by providing direction, input, and feedback


Relationship Management:

  • Maintain relationships with corporate members, Minority Business Enterprises (MBEs), clients, funders and partners
  • Attend local, city and county meetings pertaining to supplier diversity/MBE issues in the state, and provide briefings to the President & CEO
  • Communicate with stakeholders to gain support for programs
  • Serve on committees and boards to represent the Council
  • Work closely with the board of directors, volunteers and committees to deliver on KPIs


Marketing Management:

  • Assist with the recruitment of corporate members, MBEs, and other partners
  • Identify, synthesize, and communicate relevant information on opportunities, market trends and drivers (budget, regulatory, policy, etc.)
  • Serve on panels and present information about the Council’s mission, programs and
    services as well as other topics
  • Bachelor’s degree in Management, Business and/or Operations; Master of Business Administration (MBA) or related degree is a plus
  • Minimum of five years’ experience within non-profit operations, and/or in the management of human capital and/or accounting, marketing and sales or other related fields
  • Excellent organizational skills and project management capabilities
  • A proven ability to work without supervision, and to meet deadlines while overseeing
    multiple tasks and programs
  • Hands-on experience developing consulting projects and/or working with minority-owned
    businesses strongly preferred
  • Applied experience and strengths diagnosing operational inefficiencies and in the
    development of sound internal systems and procedures
  • Excellent oral and written communications skills (a writing sample is required)
  • Strong negotiation and interpersonal skills, and a proven ability to work with diverse
    constituencies
  • Demonstrated expertise in a variety of business and/or supplier diversity concepts,
    practices, and procedures a strong plus
  • Intermediate to advanced computer skills: Microsoft Office Suite, QuickBooks, and Internet research

Events Coordinator

FSMSDC is seeking a dynamic and experienced Events Coordinator to join our team. The Events Coordinator will be responsible for planning, coordinating, and executing various events to support the organization’s mission and fundraising goals. This role requires a creative, detail-oriented, and organized professional with a passion for event management and a commitment to making a positive impact.

Event Planning and Execution:

  • Plan, organize, and execute a diverse range of events, including fundraisers, donor appreciation events, awareness campaigns, and community outreach activities.
  • Coordinate logistics, timelines, and all necessary resources for successful event implementation.
  • Collaborate with internal teams, volunteers, and external vendors to ensure seamless event execution.

 

Community Engagement:

  • Foster positive relationships with key stakeholders, including donors, volunteers, sponsors, and community partners.
  • Identify and explore opportunities for collaboration with other organizations to enhance event impact and outreach.
  • Utilize various channels to generate awareness and participation.

 

Staff Collaboration:

  • Collaborate with the marketing and communications team to create effective promotional materials and strategies for events.

 

Post-Event Evaluation:

  • Conduct post-event evaluations to assess success, gather feedback, and identify areas for improvement.
  • Prepare comprehensive reports detailing event outcomes and return on investment.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Event Management, Marketing, Business, or a related field.
  • Proven experience in event planning and execution, preferably in a nonprofit setting.
  • Strong organizational and project management skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team and independently.
  • Proficiency in using event management software and tools.

Business Consultant, Finance

The Communications Manager, located at our Miami headquarters, reports to the Vice President of Operations of the Florida State Minority Supplier Development Council, and directly supports the organization’s mission by providing leadership over the Council’s marketing to improve the overall brand positioning and strategy. A unique and creative position for an energetic and motivated individual who enjoys learning new techniques, is skilled in graphic design, brand management, writing, web design and social media marketing, and has a strong understanding of user experience UX and UI.

  • Design brochures, flyers, event invitations and council collaterals
  • Design and update websites
  • Update Facebook, LinkedIn, YouTube and Twitter application and other social media
  • Administrative responsibilities will involve correspondence, meeting scheduling and keeping track of council’s calendar of activities
  • Develop videos to market the council
  • Assist with the writing and design of the newsletter
