Process Management:
- Plan the delivery of the overall program and services in accordance with the mission and goals of the organization.
- Ensure that program activities operate within the policies and procedures of the organization.
- Assist with developing new initiatives to support the strategic direction of the organization.
- Assist with developing and implementing long-term goals and objectives to achieve the successful outcome of programs and services.
- Develop a program evaluation framework to assess the strengths of programs and identify areas for improvement.
- Assist with the development and execution of fundraising strategies, including donor outreach and engagement campaigns.
- Identify, research, and apply for grant opportunities to secure funding for existing and new programs.
- Develop and maintain relationships with grant-making organizations, corporate sponsors, foundations, and individual donors.
- Oversee grant compliance, reporting, and stewardship of funds received to ensure proper execution and alignment with funder requirements.
- Develop, update, and implement standard operating procedures (SOPs) and policies.
- Assist with the identification of alternative funding sources, including collaborating on proposals.
- Monitor program activities on a regular basis and conduct annual evaluations according to the program evaluation framework.
- Develop monthly, quarterly, and annual reports, reporting evaluation findings, and recommending changes to enhance programs and services.
- Assist with the implementation of the CRM.
- Provide business consultations to small and diverse suppliers.
- Perform other responsibilities as assigned.
People Management:
- In consultation with the President, recruit, interview, and select well-qualified staff.
- Establish and implement a performance management process for all program staff.
- Supervise and manage the performance of a team of direct reports.
- Conduct performance reviews and improvement plans.
- Provide staff training and professional development.
- Ensure all staff members receive orientation and appropriate training.
- Supervise program staff by providing direction, input, and feedback.
Fundraising and Donor Relations:
- Develop and implement a comprehensive fundraising strategy, including corporate sponsorships, individual giving, and grant funding.
- Cultivate and maintain relationships with key donors, funders, and sponsors to secure financial support for FSMSDC’s programs.
- Coordinate donor engagement events, campaigns, and networking opportunities to increase visibility and support.
- Work closely with the President & CEO and Board of Directors to expand fundraising opportunities.
- Create impact reports and donor communication materials to highlight FSMSDC’s achievements and return on investment for funders.
Relationship Management:
- Maintain relationships with corporate members, Minority Business Enterprises (MBEs), clients, funders, and partners.
- Attend local, city, and county meetings pertaining to supplier diversity/MBE issues in the state and provide briefings to the President & CEO.
- Communicate with stakeholders to gain support for programs.
- Serve on committees and boards to represent the Council.
- Work closely with the board of directors, volunteers, and committees to deliver on KPIs.
Marketing Management:
- Assist with the recruitment of corporate members, MBEs, and other partners.
- Identify, synthesize, and communicate relevant information on opportunities, market trends, and drivers (budget, regulatory, policy, etc.).
- Serve on panels and present information about the Council’s mission, programs, and services, as well as other topics.
Additional Information:
Travel required 20% of the time, including travel to see clients, day trips, and overnight stays.
This position requires frequent interaction with administrative personnel, middle and senior-level management at companies of all sizes, and donors. The nature of these communications ranges from routine exchanges of information to securing funding, sponsorships, and strategic partnerships. The position also deals with confidential and proprietary information that must be kept confidential.
