The Voice of Entrepreneurs

The Supplier Input Committee represents the interests of Florida Business Development Council’s SBEs and MBEs and works with the Council’s board, staff and president. The committee supports and develops strategies and initiatives that serves FBDC’s mission of “advancing business opportunities for certified businesses and connecting them with corporate members,” and doing so in ways that create value and deliver economic and social impact for all stakeholders.

Integrating Perspectives

The Supplier Input Committee aims to ensure that suppliers’ voices and perspectives are heard, considered and integrated into the Council’s initiatives and strategies. The committee has four major goals:

  1. Supplier growth through revenue growth and more opportunities to compete for and win contracts.
  2. Increased supplier-to-supplier spending through opportunities to buy from each other, teaming agreements and subcontracting opportunities.
  3. Increased supplierengagement through more in-person events, including socials, lunch and learns and CEO roundtables.
  4. Ensuring that suppliers are procurement-ready, with capability statements, insurance, accounting systems, standard operating procedures, access to capital and more.

A representative of any certified SBE or MBE company can join the Supplier Input Committee Meetings.

A representative of any certified SBE or MBE company can join the Supplier Input Committee Meetings, which are scheduled for the first Thursday of every month from 8:00 AM to 9:00 AM. For more information, please call (305) 762-6151.

Eligibility

Candidates must be a minimum of a majority (51%) minority business owner or meet the size requirements (as defined by the Small Business Administration) of a company certified by FBDC, must be Senior Executive appointed by the President of your company. Candidate must have the support of two nominators from the Suppler Input Committee, Board of Directors, or FBDC Committee Leaders. The Candidate must be able to devote the necessary resources to fulfill this role and is willing to serve the good of all suppliers and should be leaders of good moral fiber/character.
